"The food is very good but not quite worth the high price. The focaccia and soups are amazing but the entree and pasta left a little to be desired. I would come here again for sure but wouldn't go out of my way."

"Great food and atmosphere, fast and friendly service! Rosemary focaccia and arancini small plates both fantastic, absolute must-tries! Straw & hay and Grotto salad very good as well. Plenty of fun drinks to choose from. Mezzannote for dessert to die for, another must try!"

"We waited an hour to be seated and 45mins for the food. Average pizza and pasta, mussels were really good… we payed $120 for 4 dishes and 2 lemonades. Low quality service.. never coming back. I regret having dinner here."

"The aesthetic and ambiance were absolutely lovely. The menu was large and abundant with choices. I had an absolutely delicious and perfectly portioned salad, with a side of focaccia bread that was so crunchy on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. The honey butter that came with it was a really nice touch. My friend had a seafood dish he really enjoyed. We also shared the fried mozzarella balls which were tasty as well. I also loved that we could see fresh pizzas being made in the stone fire oven. I will definitely be back to try some of that. I don’t remember our server’s name but he was a younger gentleman who was so very polite, kind, helpful, and attentive. Great location too. It is within walking distance of several important downtown areas and attractions."

"Phenomenal. The service, environment, cocktails, all of it was absolutely amazing. The food is on another level. I didn’t think the next bite could be any better, the more things I tasted; the more I wanted to eat. It was absolutely mouthwatering. I wished I had better words. Houston is not always a fun trip with having treatment and medical appointments, but the Grotto was an excellent last minute decision. I will definitely be back!"
