"Went to this restaurant about 2 weeks ago. We had breakfast, and the barbacoa plate was not good. The barbacoa was super dry and tasted like it was reheated. We also ordered the pork tamales, and they were good. No refill on tea is also kind of why it only gets 2 stars. I'd go again, but just for tamales."

"The tamales are better then i thought. The size of them exceeded my expectation’s. We got chicken, pork and Raja. The taste is even better. You can tell by the color of the “masa” really orange looking. I recommend this place to anyone looking for quality tamales."

"Customer service was good. Masa (of the tamale) had a natural, wonderful color, and had flavor. Meat was the right amount and you can tell these tamales are made fresh. Also they took great care of wrapping the tamales to make sure there were no leaks or tears. Not alot of restaurants have patience or take the time to do that now. I'd recommend to pay with cash as there is a 4% charge to use card but overall my experience was great. I'd say the drive from Brownsville was worth it."

"This morning, I ordered 5 tacos via a Door Dash store front online at 7:00am. The order said it would be ready at 7:40-7:46. I sent my mother to pick up the order as it was already paid for. However, at 7:53, my mother informed me that the order was not ready and she had to leave to get to work on time. I called the restaurant to ask for a refund. However, they informed me that my order was there and ready. I explained that my mother had just left them and they had told her my tacos were not ready. They said that the name she had given them for the order was "Mitchell" instead of my name "Krystal ". I immediately understood what had gone wrong, my mother has a terrible sinus infection right now and her voice is shot. They must of misunderstood her. Not their fault. However, no solutions were offered to me as a customer that already paid. No "can we offer you the same tacos tomorrow". No "can you come by and pick up fresh tacos later". No "can we drop them off somewhere." Nothing. They simply said, "Your order is here and already paid: we cannot refund ". I wonder if there was even an order for a "Mitchell". I'm not angry just incredibly sad when there's a complete disregard for problem-solution thinking in customer service."

"Every time we come to South Padre Island from Houston, we stop at Parras for breakfast on our way out of town. The food is excellent and we always look forward to our visit. I usually order the Posole and three mini Barbacoa Tacos and it never disappoints. The tamales here are also so delicious...we dream about them. They served their food with multiple salsas as well. The prices are very reasonably and they serve you quickly with a smile. We had another great breakfast there today!"
