"Drove all the way from the NE got to Platos Closet 30 minutes before they oppened waited until they oppened the doors at 10 and was greeted with "before you walk in with that we only by clothes at 12" from a young guy that worked there. Was planning on selling and shopping in Platos Closet but did not bother from how rude their employee was. I Called Uptown Cheapskate to find they buy clothes all day except for an hour before they close. I would recommend selling clothes at Uptown Cheapskate instead they are friendlier and work professionally with their customers."

"I really think this store needs to be under new management, and uphold the policies that are stated online. Plato’s closet is a higher end thrift store selling similar clothing as they do at the good will and or savers and to me, it’s not a good look. I went in with a lot of clothing, and most of the the clothing was Levi’s, Aeropostale, and only two items of clothing were picked out from the bunch and for $10. Literally not worth selling your clothes here."

"I have to admit that I frequent Plato's Closet with some regularity, and while I find good quality clothing pieces, I have also noticed an interesting pattern in the treatment provided by the staff in these kinds of stores, specifically used clothing stores such as Uptown Cheapskate and Thrift. It seems what they all share is a peculiar kind of training, which is how to master the art of making customers feel patronized. It is truly an amazing ability! Let me tell you about a recent anecdote I experienced with my mom during a visit to this store. My mother and I were next in line to pay. At the the counter she politely asked if she could take advantage of the 20% discount for the points she accumulated on previous purchases. To our surprise, the response was negative. Maybe my mom didn't understand the policies correctly, and that's okay - rules are rules. However, it is unfortunate that in a store frequented by regular customers, exceptional service cannot be provided. The longer we were there, the customer service seemed to be deteriorating. The lady dragged her tone accompanied by a somewhat patronizing attitude. When the transaction ended, I took my bag and followed with a "thank you". Every time I expressed my gratitude, it seemed like my words vanished into thin air. On the fourth or fifth try (me feeling crazy), I finally got a response. Is it necessary to be impolite to a customer? I wonder. As a last resort, I decided to ask for the name of the person who charged us, and that's how I met Sofia. I don't want to focus on her as an individual but on the recurring patterns I observe in some interactions. I firmly believe that the Plato's Closet staff has a lot of potential so as to provide a wonderful customer experience, and it would be great if the store could take these aspects into account to improve and continue to grow as a unique store in its category. In conclusion, Plato's Closet offers a selection of quality clothing pieces, but its staff could benefit from remembering that customers are the reason for its existence. We all like to be treated with kindness and respect, and I know that the team at this store can achieve that. I sincerely hope that this observation helps foster exceptional service, and an enjoyable experience for all those who visit the store."

"Do not do business here it is a scam. They will pay you less than $20 for Retro Jordans and charge over $100 for them in the most beat and dirty condition. They have a limit of 1 pair of Jordans per purchase and when I asked why they said they don't like "resellers" which just tells me they are reselling and don't like competition. Sell your shoes online or they will gladly do it for you."

"I took in 2 new pairs of shoes new pants, like 2 other pairs of heels only worn once and 3 pairs of Jordan’s and a decent amount of clothing and quoted me $74 for all of it and gave me back only 2 item’s because of wear and what they are taking in. Mind you the heels were all Steve Madden. I had so much in mind I couldn’t process I took it, it wasn’t till later I was like wait a min but didn’t feel like driving all the way over again. But never again!"
