"Dont expect anything similar to Turnbull. Maybe a tiger stripe cyanide job on a cheap 1911. But not the place for a standard bone charcoal case coloring on anything of value. My shotgun came back solid grey like someone heated it with a torch and forgot to quench it. Ive seen better jobs done with cold bluing solutions. You get what you pay for."
"Bobby has done one full custom for me and components for several other customs. His work is first class, and he is super friendly. For people complaining about "shutting books down in August", it's pretty simple: if you're good, you're busy. If you want quick, go elsewhere. If you want quality, Go with TGW."
"Ruger CS ruined the finish on my gun - including putting several nicks in it. After they attempted three times to fix it - once with the gun coming back with rust on it - I gave up and sent it to Tyler Gun Works. I have very high standards - some might say OCD, especially for a carry gun - but I am pleased with the work TGW did on a factory refinish. The price was very fair, and the gun looks in some ways better than new. The nicks were smoothed out very well - barely perceptible to me, not noticeable to anyone else. There were a few minor imperfections, two faint scratches and a residual [salt] stain in the curve underneath the latch. The bluing from TGW seems much more resilient than the original finish. The biggest downside was I was without my revolver for 13 weeks. However, I think the tradeoff is worth it, as I can look at my gun with pride again."
