Greenwood Cemetery, located at 1603 Greenwood Street in Orlando, Florida, is a historic cemetery established in 1880. Offering scenic views and historical significance, this 100-acre cemetery is owned and operated by the City of Orlando. The cemetery was founded after a group of eight residents purchased 26 acres of land, leading to the creation of a permanent burial location for the people of Orlando.
The cemetery's original layout was designed by Samuel A. Robinson, and today, it is managed by the City Clerk in accordance with City Code regulations. Greenwood Cemetery offers Moonlight Walking Tours, providing a historical stroll through the grounds to visit the graves of notable individuals in Orlando's history. Registration for these tours is typically through Eventbrite, with tickets becoming available two weeks before scheduled tour dates.
The cemetery office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the cemetery grounds are open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., including observed holidays. Moonlight Walking Tours are currently suspended until further notice, but when available, they are sponsored by different charities and provide a unique opportunity to explore the rich history of Orlando.

"Very nice area and well cleaned. A great resting place for families and easy to get to where I need to go. Sometimes I take a walk around and enjoy the history and tranquility of Greenwood Cemetary."
"Came here on 4th of July for a walk, it’s “dead” center of Orlando. It’s my second time here, its most notable residents are the veterans, T.G.Lee the dairy farmer, some of Orlando’s former mayor’s, Joe Tinker who was a baseball player, a famous botanist and the baby land graves. Many of the patients from Sunland TB hospital are also buried here, they offer moonlight walking tours also if you’re interested in hearing about the history of some of these people in more detail."
"I started coming over here about a year ago to find a veteran grave of a young woman who passed in the 60s had no clue where to look for her, one of the workers was very kind even though he spoke no English he went of his way to help pin point her grave he did ... very nice gentleman and beautiful cemetery"
"This is the most beautiful cemetery I’ve ever been to, my father and grandmother & some decedents are buried here and I appreciate the amount of privacy the cemetery provides our passed loved ones with. Has absolutely Beautiful trees and it’s just totally peaceful and quiet from my experiences."
"Very well maintained . In the beautiful heart of orlando tucked beneath the skyline of today — but nestled in the wood line of the preserve — an also historic sinkhole — next to it. Basically all the famous central Florida celebrities, key figures are buried here. You can walk in the park after with your pet. But keep dog in car. Much love .. i always like to visit and give love even though i don’t personally know anyone buried there."
