"So far, we are able to get availability for boarding mostly on weekends, and even during long weekends. Their Playgroup assessment and Playgroup activities are nice, where our pet is monitored always with a staff, and they are allowed to play with dogs only with their temperament levels. Friendly staff, and mostly interactive. Haven't had any issues so far. Will definitely use them for Boarding, day care and Playgroup activities."

"I enrolled my furry little one in the Klondike Canine Academy before the start of the pandemic and when he was a puppy. I had him enrolled in courses until the situation did not allow for him to participate. I enrolled him in courses there because they came highly recommend from a friend and a Purdue professor. Layla and Emily are excellent instructors. They are also very kind, patient, and very helpful in helping pet parents like me understand and interact with our furry little children in a more meaningful manner. I believe the training my little one and I received through their courses gave him a solid foundation to be good, kind, loving, and obedient doggie citizen. The courses also empowered me to have the most pleasant and efficient communication and training interactions with my furry log/loaf, from which I still benefit to this day. I highly recommend, if you have a puppy and can enroll him/her in their puppy obedience course that you do. It is worth every penny and will help you have a more calm and solid relationship with your furry little (or big) one(s)."

"It's been years since I boarded my dogs at this place, but I decided to write about my experience so others might avoid Klondike Kennels. I was unable to get at an appointment at our regular kennel, so I decided to try this one. Typically, my dogs stay in a suite. Klondike did not have suites, but told me they could put the dogs alone in a small room off of the reception room. I agreed that this would be ok. However, when I returned to pick them up, they were not alone in the room. They had been put into an x-pen in that room, with another dog housed in a crate in the same room. My dogs were at the time very young, strong, active whippets that could have been seriously injured while left unattended in that enclosure. Had I been asked, I never would have allowed them to be kept in that manner. To make matters (much) worse, when I arrived, there was no one at the reception desk. I called out, and no one answered. I walked to the room my dogs were in, and the door was unlocked! So literally anyone could have walked in and taken my dogs! I took them outside, then hung around until an employee finally showed up. Also, they left the dogs' custom made collars hanging on their leashes in the room, and the collars were chewed up and destroyed. They acted like that was no big deal, and offered to pay for the collars, which I refused. The did not offer an apology for not keeping my dogs secure. This experience was absolutely appalling. Do NOT board here!"

"Klondike Kennels takes excellent care of my dog when I board him. The staff is always friendly and pricing is straightforward. If you're looking for a place that will care for your pet while you're away, look no further! The fact that they have a vet on staff (the Blair Animal Clinic is in the same building) is reassuring in case something happens to my pup while I'm away."

"If I could give this place a 10 star rating, I would! We got a beagle puppy last summer and wanted to make sure she got off to a great start as far as getting along with others dogs - and people. Plus, we needed to find a quality place to take her when we were going to be gone - either for the day or for a week at a time. Our neighbors recommended Klondike Kennels. Wow - were they ever right! My first impressions were great! The staff was friendly and helpful - and gave me a tour of the facilities and their diverse services - all the while asking lots of specific questions about Cassie and her needs. (Let me add, my husband and I are empty nesters, so our little beagle rocks our world!) We especially like that they know all about our dog - and the other pets there - much more so than the owners. The animals come first! Cassie has been treated with TLC every time she has stayed there - which is often! They have a very reasonable Day Boarding option - which we use for Cassie on the days that both of us have to work full days. She gets lots of special attention from the staff - and gets a chance to go outside several times throughout the day. The EXTRA plus is that if she Day Boards on a Wednesday or Friday - she also gets to go out for Play Groups for 2 hours of off-leash frolic with other dogs. The play group sessions (offered through Klondike Canine Academy) are supervised by trained dog behaviorists, so I know Cassie won't pick up any bad playing habits - and will be safe while playing with other dogs. We decided to do the day boarding so that Cassie would be accustomed to the kennels before we needed to leave her for a week at a time - and this idea worked like a charm. Her fist time being there for a week went great. They took good care of her - and she was a clean and happy dog when we picked her up. Not a bit over-stressed. Cassie loves it at Klondike Kennels. She tries to run into the kennel area when I bring her - and she knows and loves all of the staff - as they do her. I'm so glad that I know about Klondike Kennels - and I highly recommend it to any pet owner. The staff will make sure your pet is well taken care of."
