"We really enjoy this area. It is a nice jump off point to natural bridge park and natural bridge trail. Bankhead is a short drive to explore the waterfalls and trails. There is a lake and the amenities are power and water. Our bathhouse was down for repairs, but there are several and it was not a real inconvenience"

"I go to this campground as frequently as possible. It’s close to my home and the amenities are superb. The lakeside sites are beautiful and there are plenty of places to hang hammocks, fish, or just wander in nature. The staff is always super kind and accommodating."

"We are retired and travel Fulltime in our 35’ 5th wheel and enjoy seeing and staying in National, State and COE parks/campgrounds. Before we arrived we received an email giving us information and the gate code, upon arriving we were disappointed that there was no one to direct us towards our site. This was our first time here so it would have been nice for at least a map at the gate. (The site tag and map were on the site post, which didn’t help us navigate the park). When we reserved the site 83, it said it would accommodate our rig and truck, however upon arrival we discovered we barely fit. There is a deep hole (Calvert) next to the entrance to the site so we ended up driving on the grass to avoid it. Would have been better to drive past and back in. The site is more than slightly sloped and the picnic table, fire pit is on the left, so you come out of your camper right on the road, there are also low hanging branches that caught on the vents and air conditioning unit on our roof. This site would be good for tenters, van camper or a small trailer, I wouldn’t recommend it for larger rigs. There is a bathroom next to the site, but only the bathroom/shower in Bear loop was open during our stay, it was clean and the water was hot. We enjoyed the hiking and bike trail, they were very nice and we saw deer and other wildlife, as well as some fall colors. Other campers were very friendly and we enjoyed conversations with other Full-timers. We didn’t see a host until the last day of our stay. If we return, we would probably stay in Hoot Owl loop as it had best sites For larger rigs."
