"It is unfortunate that most of the people in need of amazing services like this are poor and/or are on medicaid. It breaks my heart that mostly only middle class or people of some type of privilege can afford this. Suicide rates have sky rocketed, as more than half of the therapists never returned after covid, people have been pushed out of their homes, (like my child and I), prices are going up even more.....and every single time I see a counseling service in town that I think would be PERFECT, my hopes are constantly let down when I see that most of these places don't accept HIP/medicaid...or even offer a sliding fee scale. The most traumatized people in need of help can't get it....it's only reserved for the privileged it seems. :( Suicide rates are only going to continue to climb higher."
