"This is a historic place. They have a festival there every year. Very important to the African-American community in southern Indiana"

"Lyles Indiana is one of several all but forgotten Indiana African American communities founded in the early 19 century. The Lyles Station School and Wayman Chapel AME Church are now all that is left of the once thriving community. A descendent of the Black settlers, Aaron R. Fisher, became the most highly decorated African American soldier from Indiana of the First World War."

"It’s just a small place in the middle of nowhere, but it’s a great landmark of early settlers there and they have produce for sale behind and an awesome cabin with the backstory of it posted. I haven’t been on a tour but we stopped and took a look around and it’s pretty cool if you’re into history."

"This is an awesome place to visit and learn about the history of a very strong and tenacious group of freed slaves making a go of it in the wilderness of Indiana. Many descendants of the original settlement still live and farm around the area."

"We went to the corn maze/hay ride little festival and it was wonderful!! There was so much to do and we had the best time with our 2 yo! She loved feeding the sheep, walking the corn maze, drinking hot chocolate, painting the pumpkin she picked from the pumpkin patch, and of course, the hay ride. There was a band there, I wish I knew their name, and they played "old yeller dog" just for Neriah! It was some of the most fun we've had all year with a 2 year old! Thanks to all involved with putting everything together! We will be going back every year they have it now!! And they kept to the Covid guidelines as well!"
