GREAT parking, laundry, updated kitchens, NICE quaint apartment style, cheap rent The price is soooooo affordable, the apartment unit was nice especially for the price. Great parking always can find a spot. Great laundry rooms located all over the building Unfortunately the apartment building is old and not super clean. The carpets are dirty. Strong cigarette smoke smell in the lobby. Please be aware Lots of Roaches! Also you will hear emergency sirens all day and all night. They do have an elevator that helpful. The apartment kitchen was updated, that’s nice."

"Went by for a tour and was shown a ghastly apartment. Bathroom ceiling was sagging half a foot and wall was heavily bubbled from water damage, air vent on wall looked filthy/heavily damaged, and there was a toilet water flood in the hallway to boot. Intense stale cigarette smoke smell stuck to clothes and aggravated my allergies for the rest of the day. +1 star for the price (makes a lot more sense seeing the state of a show apartment) and nice kitchen/bathroom fixtures, but Stonecrest's management needs to seriously overhaul their building conditions. No one wants to live in a dilapidated building -- and current tenants definitely shouldn't have to settle for their living space falling apart if they already live there."

"I’ve lived here more than 2 years and am very happy with the experience. Stonecrest is family owned and they all definitely care about their renters. When we needed fixes in our apartment, they have always come the SAME DAY to fix. We were blown away. They spray for bugs, I have seen less than 5 roaches since being here and half the time they are already dead. This has been a huge relief for me coming from granite apartments. They are very pet friendly and love our new dog. Possibly the most remarkable part about stonecrest is how affordable it is. The down deposit and pet deposit are only $99 each! Not one month rent! Rent is VERY affordable for comparable apartments in the area. The outward appearance of the building and the hallways, shared space are not especially attractive but don’t be put off by this. The interior of the apartments are very nicely kept and that’s what matters as that is where you spend your time. I really appreciate this because you know your rent money isn’t being spent on frills and amenities you don’t care to use (I will never pay expensive rent from a place with a pool, gym, tanning beds because I can just get a $10 gym membership for those... let me just pay rent for my apartment!) The location is also fine, though the area is a little run down. Close to murdock park which never has people and is nice to take my dog. We have never had issues. I drive 8 minutes to the far side of purdue’s campus. Also a quick bike ride to downtown. Very close to the payless grocery. A city bus stops at the parking lot. We have never ever heard our neighbors except in the hallways (doors are thin but walls are NOT! Almost impossibly so. We are very noisy people with a loud beagle and have never gotten a complaint from our neighbors, either. At first we thought our neighbors may be quiet elderly people with hearing issues. Not so, our neighbors are young and we don’t hear them either! The insulation is just that good. ) speaking of neighbors, there are several long-time renters here that are very friendly. Never had a negative experience. If you are a practical person who wants to pay the cheapest rent you can without having bugs and noise, stonecrest is it!"

"I've lived here for 2.5 years, and have mixed feeling about this place. Pros: Cheap rent, quiet neighbors, and pet friendly. Even with a studio apartment on the ground floor, I rarely ever hear anyone above me or next to me. The location is good considering the price. I've walked to Columbian park many times, and it's an easy bike ride to downtown Lafayette. If something in the apartment broke, they fixed it within the week (so not IMMEDIATELY, but still in a timely manner). Cons: Parking and communication. Sometimes you cannot find parking in the lot and have to park on the street. During the winter, the parking lot becomes a sheet of ice and I couldn't leave the lot on several occasions causing me to be late for work. I've also witnessed several accidents in the lot due to the ice not being taken care of. Sometimes management is hard to get a hold of and do not always answer the "emergency" contact number. Some of the residents here can be sketchy, but I never had an issue as we mostly keep to ourselves. They spray for bugs, but I still deal with cockroaches and spiders from time to time."
