Parkview Apartments

"I read a review of Parkview not so long ago and it was a bad one. Although as I continued reading I couldn't help but notice that this wasn't the same Parkview that was being spoken of. First thing that made me think this was the mention of signing an ONLINE lease, unfortunately this Parkview doesn't offer online lease signing. You actually have to come and get a lease from the manager. Whoever decided to post a review didn't make sure to check the address of which he was posting. As far as a review, I have leased from here before and I lease here now. I am not going to say that this building is beautiful or anything. Its not a grand hotel, it does have its flaws, but the apartments are quite nice, I have never had an issue with getting anything fixed management is always right on top of things. The atmosphere and neighbors are great as well, I've never met a more giving bunch of people than those who live here. Several of my neighbors who could afford much nicer, bigger, more expensive units elsewhere decide to stay here because of the quickness of the management, the atmosphere, and the neighbors. I definitely would recommend this place to others!"

"As a graduate student looking for an apartment, the location of this apartment complex seemed pretty good at first. After speaking with the at first nice management staff, I signed a lease online assuming the apartment would be in a livable and safe condition. I came to visit the apartment before school to make sure everything was in order. As soon as I entered the complex where the unit was located, I immediately got hit with this huge wave of humidity and stench of mold. Even the carpets were wet. From the looks of it, there is a significant amount of water damage to the entire complex. I contacted the health department and development department to file formal complaints. Their answers were both the same; they knew about this unit and how bad of shape it was in. When I questioned the management, their first response was there was no water damage. After I told them the health and development departments said otherwise, the response quickly changed to "Well, we have had trouble in the past, but we quickly got it resolved." Don't think so. The unit was no better. After I complained to the management about this problem and how they did not tell me their apartment had a significant amount of damage, the only way they said I could be released from their lease agreement was by paying for the entire years' rent and monitoring the apartment throughout the year. What kind of business is this? If you want to live in a rotten, mold infested apartment while being treated like a second class and having your hard-earned money taken from you, find a place where the staff will at least tell you they are going to do it. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE."
