"We lived at Camelot for 2 years. I'll start with the good. Decently priced rent for a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. Great location! The buildings are located within walking distance to downtown Schererville and is right next to Redar Park. You can literally walk right over to most of the festivals Schererville has to offer. You're also down the street from the police department which is a plus should anything bad happen. Now, for the bad. At first, our experience with the landlady was pleasant and amazing. She was professional and seemed like someone we could work with as needed. That changed the first time our air conditioning unit went out. We had a newborn and it was the middle of a July heatwave. It took 3 days to replace the unit because all of their spare units were broken and needed repair. They finally got one and it barely worked. You had to clean the coils everyday to keep it blowing out cold air. A week later we had to call again because the replacement stopped working. Unfortunately, the next summer was the same issue. The last time we called I was told that we were being difficult tenants, and we just needed to clean the filter (trust me we did and cleaned the coils - no cold air). During our stay at Camelot, our apartment also had a mold issue. We tried calling the office to let them know we'd tried to clean it and it kept reappearing so we wanted it checked out especially having children in the apartment. The response we received was, "Clean it with hot water and bleach and it'll go away." When we moved, our security deposit also wasn't returned to us because of the repairs that had to be done due to the mold. All-in-all it's an okay place to rent if you're willing to gamble with which version of the property manager you'll be working with. For us, we'll hopefully never have to rent from them again."

"DO NOT RENT HERE, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT! I lived here for 2 years then Camelot Apartments purchased the building in the middle of my lease. They increased the price of rent without making any improvements. In fact, I had a terrible roach infestation for MONTHS that they did not fix. So I decided not to renew my lease again just to find out they are trying to steal my security deposit for made up expenses such as cleaning and repairs. They bought a run down apartment building and they will try to steal security deposits to make renovations and repairs. BEWARE!!"

"I'm not sure where those two bad reviews came from, I have never seen anything at these apartments that was anything but nice. As soon as a renter moves out the carpets are replaced, the walls are painted, appliances replaced if necessary the apartment that I personally walked through looked like it was brand new. There was one other that was in the process of being cleaned, painted and getting ready to be rented again that I looked at, but it would have been a little longer than I needed. Just by seeing that I could tell that the management seem to care about making sure everything was nice. The lady that I dealt with in the office was wonderful she was very helpful and couldn't have been more pleasant. I watched several interactions with renters coming in and out while I was there and never saw any type of animosity between her and them. Maybe there was a different person then? Anyway the lady in the office now Mary is wonderful! The job I had expected to take in Schererville fell through so I did not take the apartment but that's where I would be if I had! I would recommend Camelot Apartments, and Mary!! I had a friend that rented from Camelot for 2 years and she loved living there, never had a problem with Mary, or getting any thing fixed when it was needed promptly. That was five years ago."

"The guys that reviewed this has to be a hater, and his crap is bullshit, that guy mark scandal. The apartments are nice, the landlord lady is very nice and professional. Very good neighborhood for a baby. Everyone is nice and I'm living comfortably. I love it!!! Redar park is the best down the street. All the stores just a quarter of a mile away. Try them out!"
