"I was admitted may of 2023 and November of 2023, both times they would not communicate with my parents about how I was doing and when I would be discharged. Once I got to the php portion of getting help the communication got even worse. Once I was signed up to start, my mother was told to cancel three weeks worth of therapy because I was meant to be in php for at least two weeks. I was in php for no longer than a single week, my mother was unaware of when I would be discharged from this part until the day of discharge. I was unable to reschedule my canceled appointments and went without help for the rest of the year, causing my me tal health to plummet. I later found out the reason they practically kicked me out is because I knew one of the patients there. Do not send your kids here, they do NOT communicate and they don’t care about your child’s mental health, no matter how much they try to reassure you that they do. Edit: I’m also trans, and once I told both sections my preferred name they refused to use it, causing more distress during my time in the hospital. They weren’t being ignorant since I explained to the nurses I interacted with how I feel about it, they just didn’t care."

"You will be rushed out even if the primary doctor demands you need to be there. And if you return after a suicide attempt don’t expect them to help. The nurses hugged me and was angry that they were sending me home because they knew I needed help. If you feel suicidal go to St. Catherine, they actually helped me. I was hospitalized here after struggling for 3 years of post Covid issues that led to a mental breakdown. I told them I wasn’t ready to leave and they kept saying I was just trying to stay there because I felt safe. I WAS DEALING WITH A 3 YEAR BATTLE!! Of course I felt safe and needed to feel safe going home. The meds made me feel suicidal and when I come back for help after an attempt you throw me out and tell me to deal with it? Even though my doctor demanded me to be there for help? I am so lucky my friends helped me find help. How many suicide cases would have been avoided if you didn’t reject them and make them feel like they were just seeking attention? Shame on you."

"I had a breakdown and ended up admitting myself to them. The staff really helped me. Ross, Kathy, April and Kaylen were extraordinary. Dr. Cates is impeccable and understood my situation from the moment we spoke. If you are having debilitating mental health issues, you won't find a better place in NWI. Overall, it was quite the experience. While difficult, if you do the work, you will be rewarded."

"Very rude and unhelpful. Was told I need to make an appointment to renew medication but no appointments were available for the next 3 months. When I asked what I should do about the medication in that time, they told me to make a sooner appointment (which is not available). I asked how I would treat the issues the medication was treating in that time if I could not get more meds, they told me to just wait for my appointment in 3 months or to make a sooner appointment (again, not available). Extremely short about the whole thing as if it's my fault for making an appointment 3 months away"

"Waited 3 1/2 hours last night for them to determine whether or not my daughter would be kept. Walked out after being left in a room for 2 1/2 hours, where no one said a word to us or checked on us. And you want me to leave my child in your care? Dyer really needs to pull it together. Would not recommend."
