"This lodge is in need of serious updating. Our room was dirty, we had no hot water and complained - they said they would look at the water heater - the next morning, still no hot water. They did comp 25%. Front doors don't have handicap buttons to automatically open the door. The state needs to invest some money in this lodge."

"We come to this Lodge every winter, We love the down home feeling. Nothing beats sitting by a warm fire and looking out into a forest. The restaurant is like grandma's cooking and friendly service. Decor is beautiful cabin with native animals. This Lodge is definitely made for families. The water park pool is made to keep those little ones happy and entertained. I highly recommend this location. Dont forget to visit the Nature Center while staying. They have updated the rooms and bathrooms and this made a huge difference."

"We stayed in one of the rustic cabins with our daughters family. Two grand parent, two parents and two boys 2 & 4. We had a great time. The water facility in the lodge was great. I have read a lot of reviews complaining about the cabins. My thought is that if you want a five star pristine fancy cabin or room, then you should not stay in a state park. Yes, the cabins could have been cleaner and updated but they are advertised as rustic. We had hot water, heat a roof, clean beds, an adequate kitchen and a great time. If you are looking for perfection and pristine accomodations, stay in the city. If you are looking for a fun experience in nature surrounded by a beautiful park, then stay in one of these rustic cabins or at the lodge in the park. We would go back again with no reservations. We were satisfied and had way more fun than we would have in a fancy place in the city."

"Even though we were disappointed in our “Rustic Cabin” we made the best out of our trip. We booked a “Rustic Cabin for 3 nights. I do not recommend. The cabin smelled, it was dirty, and very out dated. Our bathroom door knob was broken. After booking I called a couple days later to confirm what came with the room. From the pictures it showed a microwave and mini refrigerator. I was told over the phone that it indeed had a mini refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee maker. The cabin did not have a microwave and I am not sure the last time the coffee pot had been washed. Luckily the lodge had a microwave in the lobby that I was able to use. I had precooked all our meals to just be warmed. Also if you eat at the lodge it is buffet only and way over priced. We did enjoy hiking and the aquatic center. The lodge has a game room but you will need money to play. As I said before we were very disappointed in the cabin but everything else was nice."

"We stayed a night the first week of October in a newly renovated deluxe two queen bed room in the annex part of the building. Everything was new and clean in the room. The hallway in the annex had new carpet and fixtures. I didn’t understand why they didn’t just put new carpet down everywhere in the lodge because the carpet in the hallway on the first floor and at the front desk area looks well worn and in need of replacing (Note to management — that is not a good first impression when one of the first things one sees is worn carpet) We really enjoyed our stay, very happy with our room except the mattress was too hard! My husband didn’t mind it but for me I couldn’t sleep well it was so hard. We ate at the restaurant, nice servers and food was good. Our daughters had a ball in the pool area. Enjoyed the wooded setting the lodge is in! Will definitely return."
