"This is a lovely block located just to west of the Grand Concourse. The homes here are two family houses and were built 1906-1910. The architect was John Hauser and the developer was August Jacob. The land was developed as the IRT was extended to this part of the Bronx in the early twentieth century. The homes are generally three stories with curved-bow fascades. The block “is a notable example of a uniformly planned streetscape,” states the Landmark Commission Report from 1986."
