"We have been at SCS for about 6 weeks, and I am so glad that we were directed here by one of my awesome students, who also happens to be an awesome instructor. So, thank you Mr. Benjamin. When you walk in you are almost always greeted by the lovely and super talented Ms. Kyleigh. She can answer most of your questions and takes awesome pictures and videos. The dojo is open, and parents and students are able to watch classes. Mrs. Crissi and everyone else have been extremely welcoming since our very first visit, and it is very clear that they care for their students. We have an 11 year old girl, and a 7 year old boy, who are both in the juniors class. I have been impressed with all of the coaches each class. Mrs. Crissi, Mr. Josh, Mr. Benjamin, Ms. Catherine, and of course, Renshi (Mr. Sam Boyer) are all are exceptional at what they do. Even in large classes, there is always individualized attention. Correction of moves and techniques comes with kindness, respect, and often an explanation. Even behavioral correction is firm, but respectful. I love the focus placed on self defense, which has been a part of every class so far. It is awesome as a parent to watch your children learn and complete these skills you hope they never need. It’s very empowering for them to see what they can do to get out of different situations as well. As if all that wasn’t enough, not long after the the kids joined SCS, Mom’s month started. After some nudging, I stepped way out of my comfort zone and signed up. I got a super cool pink belt and 4 weeks of adult/teen classes. The instructors are as phenomenal with the adults as they are with the kids. Mr. Josh, Ms. Catherine, or Mr. Brandon worked with white belt students and Moms most of the classes I attended. I am super thankful for their instruction, patience, and encouragement! Speaking of encouraging, the other adults in the class rock too! Oh, and that self defense I was talking about earlier is equally empowering as an adult. I never imagined I would have as much fun or love the experience as much as I have. Thanks, SCS. "Both of our kids train with SCS Martial Arts & Fitness. We honestly couldn’t be happier with this school and their curriculum. The school itself is large and very clean. Plenty of space for class without being cramped. The cleanliness makes the odors from sweat and gear nonexistent and also helps stop the spread of a bunch of germs. Plus it just looks amazing.
