About the Business
The Jean Shepherd Community Center is a vibrant hub for the Hammond, Indiana community, located at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Drive. To access the facility, a $10.00 I.D. card is required for all patrons. Replacement membership cards will incur a $10.00 fee. Those eligible for the disability rate must meet specific criteria, including receiving SI benefits, 100% VA benefits, or certification from a qualified healthcare provider. College students must provide a current schedule or Student ID.
The center offers rental facilities for various events, including sports events, team practices, weddings, parties, meetings, and more. Each court can accommodate up to 150 people for parties or bounce houses. The center is closed on major holidays and special occasions.
Stay informed about community events by attending crime watch meetings held monthly on Thursdays at 6 p.m. For more information, contact (219) 554-0155. The JSCC also hosts a blood drive every other month, with appointments scheduled through 1-800-RED-CROSS or recrossblood.org with sponsor code ‘jscommc’.

"Yesterday I took my dog to the park and noticed a older white guy taking care of some colored kids and the way he was aggressive towards them for not walkin fast enough. He would push them to go faster and when he noticed me lookin he changed his attitude. The fact he was gettin irritated for the kids walkin slow is un professional and I will never take my kids their. parents talk to ur kids and make sure they aren't being treated wrong"
"Nice place for most events gym was big we had a ball the staff was great Lorenzo & Lamonte was very helpful bathrooms and kitchen was clean nice rooms if you don’t want to be in the gym prices are reasonable Hammonds hidden treasure I will host my event here from now on they have a room or gym to fit any event we loved it"
