Walmart Pharmacy

"This is not our normal pharmacy but our pharmacy didn't have the Rx we needed. Sarah had it and it was very expensive. She checked the goodRx discount card but it was more than with my insurance. She then called my doctor to see if they would change it from a brand name to a generic. They did and she saved me $97. Over and above the call of duty. I can't say enough about Sarah and the staff and the extraordinary effort they went to to save me money."

"I wanted to call out the pharmacist on shift, Jay, for excellent customer service. A new prescription was very expensive, and would be a long time medication. It was clear the expense was difficult for me. She went out of her way to come to the counter and show me where to get a coupon that SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the cost. I am so grateful."

"The pharmacy at Supercenter #2690 is one of the SLOWEST, most inconvenient pharmacy, but it’s very near my house in Alabama. Last winter, while on chemo last for breast cancer, if there was no one available to get my medicine, I’d go myself. I would go into Wal-Mart, with a scarf wrapped around my baldhead, to get my pain medicine. I’d have my paper script, ask the person at the end of the line if he/she would hold my place, and then go sit down on the nearby wrought iron bench to wait for my turn. Usually people in line were very nice, and sometimes they’d let me go near the front of the line so I wouldn’t have to wait. They could see I was a cancer patient and obviously distressed. Once I dropped off my script, the clerk would say it took 20 or so minutes to get it filled. I’d go outside to the parking lot and lie down in my car and wait. After 20 minutes or so, I’d return, and again ask for my place in line to be sit on the wrought iron bench until it was my turn. I’d get up, tell them my name to and then sit down on the bench to wait for them to do the paperwork before standing back up to pay. Apparently, they didn't LIKE that and told me to stand there to wait. That could take awhile because they were disorganized. Regardless, I refused to stand up and I told them I was sick, didn’t understand what difference it made if I sat and waited for them or stood up and I continued to sit and wait. (Frankly, I was so sick back then because of chemo that it was even difficult for me to sit down and wait.) Nowadays I’m much more mobile and can stand up to wait (knock on wood). Today I went to pick up another script, after waiting over two days for the medicine to come in (a sign of poor inventory management). Anyway, when I stepped up to the window to pick up, I immediately laid my driver’s license in the middle of the counter because I know the routine: they will ask for my license because I’m picking up a controlled substance. When the PHARMACIST, who was assisting me (it was not a technician or clerk), asked for my license I motioned to its location on the counter. I simply thought she hadn't seen it. She looked and said, "Can you give it to me?" I then pushed it to the edge of the counter, well within her grasp. Then she said, "Can you HAND it to me?" Oh, okay, now I realize she had an attitude. I probably let out a sigh of discontentment when handing it to her because she said, "You know, I don't have to give you your medicine. I can just give you your script back." I said, "Fine, just give me my script back – I’ll go someplace else." She went off to look for my script. I called out to the Pharmacy Manager, a blonde who was behind the medicine filling counter, "She’s unhappy because I laid my license on the counter rather than handing it to her." I think since it'd been so many days since dropping off my script (3 days), they must have realized they would have to dig around for my script and probably didn’t want to work that hard. So the rude pharmacist came back to the counter and again asked for my license. This time, I made sure that I handed it to her. While completing the transaction she said something like, "You are rude every time you come here." I had to ask her to speak up because she murmured when speaking. She repeated herself and I finally understood what she said. I replied in a loud voice so the manager could hear, "The only thing I care about is getting my prescriptions filled as quickly & efficiently as possible." This particular pharmacy is very slow & inefficient. Then they try to dictate that a weak, bald chemo patient must stand up while waiting for them??? Today, they chastised me because I laid my license on the counter at the start of the transaction??? My advice to Google users: if you have a choice, don't go to this pharmacy; the pharmacist is RUDE and the Wal-Mart pharmacy employees are not at all compassionate to sick folks."

"All of the workers in the pharmacy was phenomenal. I never had such good service at Walmart. Candace helped me all the way and two other members referred me to sites to ensure i get the most out of my prescription. I could not ask for anything else. They were professional and kind even when I came back. I wish I could remember the young mans name with the glasses and the other lady who assisted me as well."

"Aside from the occasional insurance issue, I have been very pleased with this pharmacy. They are very quick with my refills. As long as I provide all the required information and don't make unreasonable demands (like cheaper medicine, faster service when they're busy, that sort of thing), I am not disappointed. Employees seem like they treat me as nicely as I treat them."
