"A true and classic French dining experience! The ambience is exactly what you want from a cozy, dimly lit French restaurant. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient without feeling rushed or overbearing. We participated in the restaurant week menu which includes bread and butter for the table, choice of appetizer, choice of entree, and dessert. I had the escargot for my appetizer which was juicy, buttery, soft, and full of garlic flavor. Would recommend! I tried some of my friend’s baked Brie which was soft and sweet, and the French onion soup which was pungent and powerful, in the best way! For my entree I had the roasted pork loin which was a generous cut of meat with a great crisp on the top and a flavorful, juicy center. Served with mashed potatoes so finely done it could’ve been butter, and a sweet and savory fig sauce on the side. Fantastic! My friend’s had the steak frites which was a generously sized steak with an even more generous portion of frites on the side. Dessert was profiteroles - pastry shell with vanilla ice cream inside, topped with heaps of hot fudge and dusted with powdered sugar. In addition, I ordered the black velvet espresso martini which was smooth as… well velvet. And three espresso beans to top it off!"

"Tried Mon Ami Gabi during restaurant week and I score it a solid B. Warm Baguette and Butter to start, French Onion Soup and Escargot for appetizers. Steak Frites (mid-rare) and Mussels for main course. And Profiteroles for dessert. Everything was great except the Mussels, gritty and sandy. Disappointing. Purge your Mussels Mon Ami Gabi before service please!! Our server was great, food arrived hot out of the kitchen. Chef and his team were firing on all cylinders on a busy Saturday night. Will return for sure. ✌️"

"Easily one of the best steaks I've had in Chicago. The side of macaroni and cheese I would also recommend. Great wine selection and suggestions as well. This place gets pretty busy on a Friday night, so make your reservations in advance. Our server had multiple tables ordering at the same time, so there was a bit of a wait between getting the menus and ordering. My only non-recommendation would be the fries that come with the steak. They're small and greasy."

"What a delightful experience! We had lunch. The baguette was crunchy, and warm and perfectly accented by the butter and jam. The French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had. The service is top-notch."

"We had a very nice and professional waitress (I do not remember her name, but I'm sure she will be recognized by my description). She was wearing glasses I believe, we went there a couple weeks ago. We celebrated a special occasion and picked this restaurant for its location, atmosphere and food experience. We loved the ambiance. The sauce on the escargots was delicious. Good quality steak, but the fries were a little burnt. On a different note, good wine and tasty deserts. We were pleased to see that our waitress was such a pro too. Everybody we interacted with was very nice and polite. There was an older gentlemen who kept making sure we had water and our table clean as our waitress was supplying us with food recommendations, fast service and a good vibe. From the beginning to the end, she kept the standards high and she seemed real. None of that fake smile, or if it was, we couldn't tell. She did a great job playing her part in our beautiful dinner experience. Thank you!"
