Fox Valley Apartments

"I definitely do not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. If you are in desperate need I'd say look in Montevallo do no move in to Fox Valley Apartments. The back apartments constantly smell of sewer outside and they don't make anyone clean up outside their apartment so it's constantly bringing in rodents and bugs. Management is poor and they do not respond to service calls. There were multiple times we had to fix something ourselves because they simply did no answer our texts, calls or letters. We were told that if we didn't submit a request to the office in letter form that our request would basically be non existent. While the neighbors are quiet for the most part management is the downfall of this place. They don't up keep the apartments nor do they care if you have a bug problems or not. The appliances are decades outdated, I'm not sure why our apartment had a refrigerator with a drip pan with had to empty out daily but it did. All in all 10/10 don't recommend anyone moving here. It's not worth your money at all you'd be better off living in your car or a box. Thanks for coming to my ted talk."

"My apartment burned down near the end of my lease. The property owner offered my full deposit and asked me to place a self addressed stamped envelope in the drop box to receive it. I did so. Unfortunately I have never received my deposit back despite multiple calls and face to face interactions. My stay there was nice and I would have considered renting from them again if I had received my deposit in a timely manner. However I cannot recommend them based on my issues with the deposit. Your experience may be different but I'm very disappointed at the end of what could have been a good rental relationship. Now I have to take time from my schedule to take them to court to receive my deposit. *UPDATE* In the interest of fairness, I finally received my deposit but only after sending a certified letter threatening legal action. As I stated above, your experience may differ. I am adjusting my rating to 3 stars because this was resolved outside of court, and I did enjoy my time there."

"I applied in August 2021 and was told a 2 bedroom was available. I immediately paid my $50.00 deposit and mailed my applications to their Montevallo office and to the Fox Valley location, and as of today October 18, 2021 I have not heard back from the property manager. I have been calling every week to follow up on my application and was told by the lady there is a delay with the mail. I even expressed to her me and my kids were in need of a place to stay and I was told they will give me a call when they work on my paperwork. Now, for the last month I have call and left messages. No call back!!! I feel like my calls are now being ignored. I even type a letter expressing the need of a place to stay and still NOTHING!!! At this point they took $50.00 from me!!! I hate poor communication! I even stop by the office numerous days and the door is always lock. I even spoke to a resident that lives their who inform me that is is hard to reach someone. At this point I would like my money back!!!! This was poor services! Poor lack of communication! and Unacceptable!!! Honesty they do not deserve no star rating!!!"

"I have lived here for six months and in my opinion the maintenance is low quality and the apartment management is of even lower standard. I do not appreciate the way they talk to me and my girlfriend (we are adults) because they talk to us like we are children. Plus management likes to bully residents by giving ultimatums and threatening fees and forced property removal (cars/trucks and other property) which is absolutely unacceptable. I'm not sure what the property OWNER was thinking hiring them as management but he could do WAY better."

"I don't why anyone would leave a bad review. I have lived here for over a year and the landlord and his wife are super nice. It's a mostly quiet area with probably 80% of the residents being elderly or retired. It's not the fanciest place to live, but it's clean and sturdy. If I remember correctly, I think someone told me the complex was built in the 1970s. I love my apartment."
