"If you can go somewhere else, go. The quality of care i have received from the MU "Healthcare" system since being diagnosed with MS last year as been ATROCIOUS. Everything is now chalked up to either my anxiety or MS so no further investigation is done, getting ahold of anyone who knows anything, impossible. They also refused to refer me to the Neurologist i wanted because he is at Boone so they pushed me off to another Neurologist in the MU Neurology Clinic who has little to no bedside manner and did not seem interested in building any kind of rapport with me at all. Dealing with this place is going to kill me before the MS does."

"My mother had a sudden massive heart attack and passed away there, the staff was very accommodating to a shocked crying daughter who shows up five hours after she passed. I asked to see her to view the condition she was in. The mgr and chaplain of hospital got called right away, he walked me to the cardiac ICU, and they let me view her in the cardiac ICU. Not the morgue where she was taken. The physician attending her was still there and was very kind, well spoken, knowledgeable, extremely gracious to me in my grief, explained how she got there was flown in from rolla via helicopter. And told me exactly what happened. I prayed next her bed ,and she was headed to the cremation facility shortly after that. A nurse went in the room with me and she was actually crying too. It was a sad day but the hospital was gracious, and kind to a grieving crying hysterical daughter."

"Thus is the worse hospital we have been to, and to think my 17 year old son was transferred here for a surgery that was life or death. I wish North Kansas City Hospital would had been able to do. The nurse staff is rude. The surgery team is ok but they act like they are in so much of a hurry can't just sit and talk like they really care. Expect Dr. Wiseman. No shower in the room shower in the basement dirty and scary. No refrigerator for patient food and we are going to be here for another 3 to 4 weeks. Nurse comes in don't say Who they are or what they are about to do. They don't acknowledge me as the patient mother nor the patient at that they just start doing stuff. I hate this hospital and we are 3 hours away from home. They have no couch or seating for family to visit with patients they quick to offer the waiting room. I have to sleep in a chair the entire time my son is here. I would never recommend this hospital. NORTH KANSAS CITY HOSPITAL IS THE BEST!!!!!!"

"This place is a joke. Physical Therapy people let my grandpa go from walking, to bedridden in 3 weeks. They never were there blamed it on short staff but seen them in there hallways chatting! Now grandma was just there, PT ONLY SEEN HER ONCE in 5 DAYS!!! She’s there for a fall for crying out loud. My grandpa who passed away now, needed a surgery to live. Just before there were about to do the surgery, they came in and said he wouldn’t survive the open heart surgery. Well he didn’t survive without it either… This place is so horrible, it makes me sick to think about all the patients who are worse off after being in their care."

"I would give 0 stars if that were an option. The Neuroscience ICU was absolutely fantastic. However when moved to the neuroscience floor which was absolutely horrible patient was not offered a bed pan despite multiple requests from family and several accidents in bed. Staff was very disorganized, especially night shift, lots of confusion surrounding medications, failure to communicate to family and a lot of miscommunication even after several calls made to supervisor of that floor. Rarely received calls back despite being told I would. Don’t really seem like they have a clue what they’re doing and they definitely only tell you bits and pieces of what’s going on and everyone’s version of the story is different. This is about half of the issues we had here. Very displeased with the care she received. I understand the staffing shortages but do better, these are peoples loved ones."
