"This outdoor area includes streams, a waterfall, and a pond. It is located on the campus of the University of North Alabama that houses the only live lion mascot in the United States, Leo III. Leo's sister, Una, was housed at the George H. Carroll Lion Habitat, but she passed away in June 2020 after a brief illness. My daughter loves to "go see the lions." It's such a cool experience. And it's FREE! Leo always seems well taken care of and happy. His grounds are always clean and well managed. I'm giving 4 stars because during our last visit yesterday, my husband discovered 2 different wasp nests by the habitat in the viewing area."

"I used to live directly in front of them on Wood Avenue. I love hearing the lion roaring at any time day or night. I truly miss that environment. It used to tickle my godson to death at hearing them roaring. We visited them on many occasions during the week."
