"I visited Standard Furniture in Bessemer with the intention to purchase a bedroom set. The salesperson approached me, no introduction, I immediately detected underlying racial bias, but I still tried to make it work. I did find one that I wanted to Purchase. It was a managers special priced at $2699. They were advertising interest free financing for 24 months. I considered financing until Mike Little said that a manager special is excluded from the interest free financing. I asked about purchasing for 90 days same as cash, Mike Little said I would need to pay $2000 down on 90 days same as cash. I asked about their lay away, again Mike Little said managers special can’t be bought on lay away. They were advertising buy an amount, get the same amount in free furniture. You guessed it, managers special not included. I will never set foot in another Standard Furniture. I made my Purchase at Conns, 24 months interest free."
