Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mobile - University Area, an IHG Hotel

"The room was clean and well maintained, the bed was firm, but comfortable. The lady at the front desk was helpful and just so very sweet (I wish I could remember her name)! Others staying at the hotel were quiet and respectful of the others staying here which was also very nice. Just a heads up that during "rush hour" it will take you closer to 30 minutes to get to the airport instead of the normal 10 minutes it would usually take otherwise. All in all it was a great place to stay!"

"Great hotel. Breakfast was delicious! Attendants were great. Atmosphere was calm and quiet. Hotel smelled great. Elevators are fast. Rooms are spacious. Soaps and shampoos are dove. They’re very generous if you forgot something as well. 10/10 recommend!"

"The hotel has been renovated so the rooms are nice. The breakfast is OK. But the service, especially the reservation system is probably the worst I ever experienced. I booked this hotel in August 2023 for a conference in October and received a confirmation email. Two weeks before the conference, the hotel told me that my reservation is canceled. I called the hotel and they said they were overbooked and I did not provide a credit card when booking. I know I did because I have the record of providing the credit card info. They asked me to talk to IHG customer service. I did and they only gave a room for one night instead of two nights that I booked. I called IHG and hotel manager again and they said there is a room for the second night but I have to pay $100 more because their cheaper rate requires a minimum 3-night stay. I told them it was their mistake canceling my first reservation and ended up staying at another hotel for the second night."

"Our original room had fairly pronounced stains on the carpet. I was moved next door, which was cleaner, but still had a few small stains on the carpet. A washcloth and a bit of soap removed the stains in less than 5-minutes. It’s a shame the cleaning crew didn’t take the time to do this instead of me. The tub also had rust stains. In the morning, both ice machines in the building were empty (I don’t blame the latter on management). The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast attendant did a wonderful job keeping everything fully stocked and even helped change the channel from Fox News to something everyone could agree on. THE BEDS WERE THE MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON!!!! In the end, it was an average stay. I expect a bit more from IHG locations, and this one fell a little short. A bit more attention to detail, more regular carpet cleaning, and a bit of managerial oversight would get this to a 4-star review very quickly."
