"I've been to this KFC 5 times since I moved to Salem two years ago. It is consistently the worst experience you can at any restaurant-- maybe even business; to Scottsburg and back. I don't even accredit this to the employees. They're always nice(hence the earned second star), but when I say this location lacks management, I'm being generous. I also think they lack employees. Is it poor pay relative to other businesses in the area? I don't suppose having two employees on a 5pm shift by themselves to be well done scheduling. With nobody else in line, I waited somewhere between 11-15 minutes. For a single famous bowl and a chicken sandwich combo. One employee cooking while the other sat in the electrical room on a bucket was absolutely absurd. I've never seen a glove on anyone at this KFC. Whether or not gloves are policy is beyond me-- but I've seen where hands go while the food was being prepares, it's on display at the window. I truly hope the Corporate KFC overlords descend upon this location at some point. It is truly a shame that this store represents the Great Colonel Sanders. 2/5 because my food was correct this time and the employees are nice. What few they have. Pay your people."

"Our restaurant tried to place a large order to pick up at 10:15 pm, we were told the restaurant closes at 10pm so we told them we would pick up our sandwiches up at 10pm. They then told us they empty their drawers at 9:58 so we needed to pick up our food before then. We decided to choose a different restaurant that would follow their actual business hours. That was a large ticket order, that I’m sure would’ve been great for sales, unfortunately the business doesn’t seem to care about that. It would have been easy to make the sandwiches before the 9:58 time but they chose to defer the entire order instead."

"The food was fresh and tasted amazing! The employees were so friendly! The girl running the drive thru was super nice and made conversation with us while we were waiting on our food to get done!"

"Went to get dinner at KFC in Salem for my mother's birthday. Upon arrival, at 5:45pm, I try to enter the restaurant, only to find the dining room locked. So I went to the drive through to place my order of a 12 piece meal. I was told they had no original ready and it would be 15 minutes or so. I said fine I would wait as I needed to go do something else as well. I was told that when I returned just to let them know. I went to the north door just west of the drive through. Not expecting to get in but to be handed my food as they had acknowledged me at the drive up window and had a line. Sitting inside the door area was 3 employees who one decided to yell at me that the dining room was closed. Very rude, and now I had a pretty good count that there was at 6 employees in the store. Plenty to have the store open for ordering in. Upon getting my chicken and opening the bucket I discovered what I had been given. Nasty old chrispy at the bottom. The pictures show that I didn't get the same type nor chicken that was cooked at the same time. I'm sure that at least 12 pieces were fixed in my fresh batch and should have recieved 12 fresh pieces I had waited for. I will be stopping at Yum in Louisville to make a complaint. The manager has been rude in dealing in the past and I won't waste my time with him again."
