El Mezcal Mexican Restaurant

"Stopped in here to get lunch and was quite pleased with the experience. The restaurant has a neat atmosphere inside and the service was fast and friendly. I have the wet burrito and enjoyed the flavor immensely. The queso was quite delicious and the combination of the chicken and shrimp was yummy. The beer was also cold and refreshing."

"My family attended this restaurant and we waited 2 hrs while other customers were being waited on quite quickly. When we were finally seated the waiters had an intense attitude and were quick to dismiss any modifications we requested. At one point my S.O requested no onions but recieved EXTRA onions. My family and I were hardly checked on, and no offered refills. The restaurant was not terribly busy either otherwise I would have been more understanding. It felt as though we were deliberately ignored. For what reasons and I am not sure. I would not recommend this place as it seems they are particulate on who their clientele is. Seems to be poorly managed and food service is quite lacking."

"The restaurant is nicely decorated to give you the authentic atmosphere, food tastes good and priced reasonably. The waiters aren't very friendly, and you can feel kinda stressful like they're working against their will!! So, my advice to the owners/management is to give some customer service training using an experienced and knowledgeable hospitality personnel. Restrooms can use some deep-cleaning, too!"

"I had a great time here. Good food and the servers were very nice. Everything was fine until I got the bill. They had not asked me how I wanted my steak cooked and put me down for well done (gross!) The steak didn't taste bad but I would have liked to be asked this question. Keep in mind, I was speaking Spanish to the server and my wife's first language is español so he could easily have clarified. Then I saw a $5 substitution charge for requesting beans and rice instead of fries with my dish (who serves fries with steak!?) Then an additional $1 for tortillas.. that I never ever asked for! I don't know if they do this to everybody, or if it was a honest mistake. But I like to know if I'm getting a $6 upcharge on my meal."

"Dinner with the family tonight before our Marching Band Competition at Zionsville High School! The place sits off the main road behind Texas Roadhouse. The outside looks inviting and well maintained! Inside was vibrant and colorful with a great Southwest feel! The staff was quick and efficient and very nice! The food was some of the better Mexican cuisine I’ve had! If you’re looking for good Mexican without the long wait, check out this place! They even have a kids menu with classics like chicken nuggets and fries!"
