"Greatrestaurant. We ate there two times while we were at McCormick's Creek State Park over the weekend. Staff is very friendly. Order came out very quickly. And the food tasted great. A real hidden gem in Spencer."
"El Ranchero has made itself a staple in Spencer and for good reason. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, like an overwhelming art museum and an ocean of colors and details. The food is always hot and fresh, the staff is lively and welcoming, and the price is absolutely affordable. I ordered the pollo con queso and was surprised to see three chicken breasts smothered in bubbling hot cheese as opposed to just one or two like I would have received in Bloomington's Mexican restaurants. The chips were crisp yet buttery and hot. The salsa was very flavorful. And the entire atmosphere has the perfect summer night magic."
"If you enjoy Mexican food and drink this is your choice to go. The wife and I were impressed with the layout of the restaurant and the decorations. It might be a little over the top for some. The food was good and I enjoyed the 'fajita' lunch special. The wife had the tacos and rice lunch. They have several different brands of hot sauces to make you feel at home."
