"We found this restaurant when I was on the way to Spencer to speak to an audience there. It had fabulous food. The owner is super nice we got to meet him before and there's just a lot of wonderful ladies working there and they take very good care of you. It's family style dining so things come out in bowls you pick your main entree the catfish, the seafood platter is fantastic, they're known for their fried Chicken which my wife gets an absolutely loves. Even my mother got the country ham it's very thick it's very nice ham everything is fantastic their gravy is my favorite thing. We go to speak there three times a year and so we always stop at the hilltop on the way through. I drove my 87 year old mother out for her birthday and she loved it and even wanted to go back. You will not be disappointed here I guarantee"

"Drove by the sign on our way to the Owen County Fairgrounds. We were earlier than planned so we stopped in for dinner. It was a great experience! Our server, Ms. Sue was the sweetest! The fried chicken was amazing. The whole meal reminded me of the meals I had after church on Sundays back home (Middlesboro, KY). If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in!! You won’t be sorry."
"We ate there twice. They take reservations and I recommend it on the first Friday of the month. That is prime rib night. Unfortunately they didn't get their delivery so I did the ribeye and shrimp. It was good but steak needed more seasoning. I like their sides. So much food I didn't have room for desert."
"I worked here in the late 90's and ate there again after all these years. Though ownership has changed hands, the food, service, and setting is the same of not better. You'll get more did than you can eat. Their signature ribeye is outstanding and the fried chicken is terrific. You really can't go wrong. The setting is scenic and relaxing. This truly is a treasure of Owen County and a highlight of Spencer!"
