"It was a very windy day in November. My friend and I decided to explore the town of Monticello while staying at my cabin in Winamac. We were greeted with...What are you looking for? We didn't have an answer because we we're just hanging out. The clothes were outdated. We spent 15 mins browsing until the lady working behind the counter said if you're not going to buy something move on. It was one of the worst experiences in my life. Miserable people like company, I'm not one of them. Hire someone that appreciates business and wants to cater to everyone that can spend the money regardless how they look, or present themselves. I felt judged, not welcomed and insecure about who I am as a person."

"Alex’s was a lifesaver. I came to Monticello without swim trunks and this was the only place around that sold them late in the summer. It’s nice to see a standalone clothing store like this in the age of big box stores sadly eliminating dedicated shops of this type. The service was friendly, selection and prices were competitive."

"I will never return to Alex’s, nor will many adults or high school kids, after a recent incident with my prom date. We were told that his tuxedo, lapel, and shoes would be rented for approximately $150-160 for a sale price for the Twin Lakes prom. As he picked up the tux, tried it on, and went to pay the rest of the deposit, they informed him that it would be $220. My date was shocked, because that was nearly $70 more than the original price. He had to then leave Alex’s, go all the way to his job to pick up a paycheck, cash it at the bank, and then go back to Alex’s. My mom called the store to see why there was such a major difference in pricing, and one of the owners, Jeff, couldn’t have been more rude as he blamed us for “not knowing the prices.” I’m very disappointed in the customer service, the money scam, and the overall experience. We will take our business elsewhere, next time."
