"What I love most about Flat Rock Tap located off Calumet Avenue, in Hammond, Indiana, is the regular Thursday night Open Mic's hosted by Marc Adrian. They run from 7pm to 10pm or a bit later. Mr. Adrian holds his own on acoustic guitar, but many other amazing local musicians drop by and share their talents with the audience. The service is terrific and the drinks are reasonably priced. If you're a musician, please stop by and jam with us (performers get one drink on the house!) If you don't play, that's ok. Come by and enjoy the great music and service!"

"I'm from out of town--stay away from this place if you are not a local. I like to hang out at the local restaurant-bars when I travel here. Love people in Indiana. They are friendly and warm. But Wow!, never have I dealt with such a hostile and rude bartender. From the moment I walked in, the ice cold attitude filled the air. I sit down and I get asked ruled "what do you want." Doesn't get any better after that. I actually timed her as I waited for a refill as she checked on the other five that were there. 11 mins 46 seconds. Finally, I had to speak up. The final touch is I asked for my bill, and it gets tossed at me."
"We were told by several people to go to Flat Rock and have one of their burgers. It was one of the best burgers I have had in that area. I like the concept of the burger being one price all by itself and then paying a little extra for each topping. This way you get exactly what you ordered and there is no waste on your plate nor the bar owners trash. The hand cut fries are my wife's favorite. Bartender was great, my beer never went empty."
