Refuge Coffee

"Atmosphere was lovely, this is a great place to sit down and do work. I love love love the decor of this place. You can tell a lot of love and thought was put into the interior design. The employees were kind enough, nothing notable though. The coffee was okay. Nothing to write home about, but still good. Though for me personally, it was so strong that it was hard to finish. And I *love* strong coffee. It was sour and bitter and overall just weird. It may just not be for me though. The food, however, was semi-disappointing. While the quality of the individual ingredients does seem to be top tier, fresh and high quality, the food items themselves weren’t great. We paid $40 for 2 coffees, 1 “wrap” (was really a small flatbread), and 1 smoked salmon bagel sandwich. This price would be okay if the food was better. The “wrap” had zero flavor, the most flavor was in the mayo. The chicken didn’t even taste seasoned. With all of the delicious ingredients in the bagel sandwich, you’d think it would be better than it is. Somehow all of the flavor got erased and the most flavorful ingredient was the cream cheese. I wouldn’t come back here for the food, maybe for the coffee if it were cheaper. The main thing I would come back for is the atmosphere. I would gladly hang out here to get work done. Overall everything was just okay. Not great, but also not bad."

"I looooove the wallpaper in this place, like the bathroom wolves one is my favorite and second would be the mushroom wallpaper. Beautiful! The coffee is good, I’d gotten the matcha and my partner the salted caramel. Both were very good! The coffee cake was also good, the only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the salmon bagel. It was too much on the fishy side for me and not enough cream cheese seeing they only put it on the bottom bagel and not the top of the bagel too. I just like both side of my bagel to be cream cheesed… I will be coming back for the coffee, not sure if I’ll try other food items yet."

"Had the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! Perfectly warm and toasted, egg cooked well, chipotle mayo adds such a depth of flavor. Service and atmosphere are great too! 10/10 would recommend"

"As a chef myself, I found this place to be outstanding. I took my family today and The bagel sandwiches were wonderful, flavorful and most importantly, soft. As a new business, I felt their organization was on point. I expect great coffee to take longer to make than those whose main intention is profit. Well done Refuge. Well done."

"Nice addition to The Hub. Bagels are excellent. The menu is limited. But what they have is tasty. Plenty of breakfast drink options. Regular coffee is tasty. They did a great job redoing the place. Great place to gather, enjoy some brews and have a bite to eat."
