"Worked here as a way to supplement income while building a business and writing (the Black unemployment rate in IL is 11%, and 6% in other states compared to 3% for whites according to Department of Labor). While the store manager Vivian is talented and great with customers, there were some really unethical employment practices here. Shaming employees in front of customers. Jealousy and pettiness when I was learning faster than the Assistant Manager. Workplace bullying out of the site of customers. Heidi the Regional Manager cornered me and tried to get me to terminate my employment when there was no reason to end my employment. I used to love this brand but knowing how they run their business has put a negative taste in my mouth regarding the entire brand. They hire someone who is talented then punish them because of insecure leadership. UPDATE: though I filed a complaint to the number below, nothing was done in fact the leader who was violent/ Heidi was promoted."
"When Dress Barn in Schererville closed, I needed a new favorite place where the staff knew me and I knew them. It took a few months of picking out a couple things here and there, but 3 years later I absolutely feel like home here every time I walk in. I love Doreen. She knows my husband and I and she always remembers me and helps me find the right sizes and the right match. I love knowing it’s the same people every time and I love the brand. I love the loyalty program and I love the specials. I feel like I get a good value for my money here. I’m able to find great business clothes here, as well as fun weekend wear. I think this is a very special place in our region for so many reasons and I always look forward to when the seasons change so that I can find new cute clothes."
