Cuttin Up Barbershop

"Came home to visit family, and I am about ready to head to my job transfer coming up this week. Needed a haircut and saw the place because I haven't been home for a looong time. First off, the place itself gave me the "Welcome back" vibes, and people inside made me feel welcomed. Rasheed, my barber, gave me a quick chat to make me even more comfortable. I was also surprised when he remembered my name from when I called asking questions on how things work in the shop. I gotta say, love the work and the cut. Surprised everybody in there, though, when I rushed back in asking for a business card or Facebook. Rasheed and company wished me luck at my next job, and I told them they WILL be the place I come to whenever I come back for a visit. Confident that the first day at work is going to be really good and will go well. Recommend this place for any people needing a new place to call "my spot"!"

"TL;DR - First time haircut here. 100% satisfied. Found my new barber. Needed an ‘emergency’ haircut today and do not prefer ‘chain’ haircut places. Most places were closed and saw “Cuttin Up Barbershop” was open, turned around and walked in. No appointment is needed but if you do walk in, appointments are prioritized. If you can’t fathom that justification, your loss and fault. It had been months since my last haircut but Rasheed warmly invited me to the chair, politely introduced himself and asked me to describe how I preferred it cut as my hair was a good 4+ish inches long all around as my hair looked like Shaggy’s from Scooby Doo, literally. Being poor at describing, all I could say was “it’s usually a one or two (for clipper guards) in the back and sides and a finger length on top and sometimes I part it” as I really don’t know the measures or haircut lingo.. and no way for him to even guess with how long my hair had grown since my last cut. Rasheed proceeded, first, to check my hairline with it combed parted. ~Kudos to him~ He then began to shorten my sides leaving the top untouched, taking his time to check both sides before turning me to the mirror to check the length before moving further. He was on point, first go. Before moving forward Rasheed double-checked with me ‘finger-length on top’ which to me was resting my index and middle finger on top and chopping off any hair longer than that. Rasheed took his time with the top. He would part it, cut, unpart it and cut and repeat. And once he had shaped ‘the look’ he turned me to mirror to check with me which was, again, perfect. Then, still taking his time, proceeded to finish up minute details. Oh! In the meantime of all this, instead of using a loud and hot hair dryer blasting away any small cuts of hair off my face, my ears and eyes he used a low pressure air hose which is pure genius. This man is a professional who cares about his work and the satisfaction of his client, yes client, not a customer. I say this as he treated me as a client and not a customer, there is a difference between the two. With that, I have found a new barber."

"This place is the vibe! From the second we walked in, everyone was so nice. They each spoke to us and made us feel welcomed. Chad did an amazing cut for my son. It's an all male barber shop and as the only female in the building, I was never worried or uncomfortable. So mamas, come get your boys a fresh cut. We used the app, the cut, to schedule and pay for our appointment with Chad. Such a great experience!"
