"I saw Dr. Barnes for 5+ years and didn’t realize I needed another dentist. I’m generally a twice a year patient with cleanings and x-rays. So when it came time to need work that’s when I learned I was in an unfortunate office. I was given a crown in 2018 that was a problem from the beginning. Two weeks post install I went in because the crown hit my bottom teeth so hard. He took 5 minutes to adjust my bite and even though it still felt off to me (I didn’t know much about crowns or bite tests) he told me it was good. Two years later I’m in horrible TMJ pain that progressively got worse post crown install. I tried to see him because I couldn’t eat, open my mouth barely, talk, my head hurt so bad. He couldn’t see me for 2 months. I had to find a dentist due to urgency of pain. What a blessing!!!!! My pain was relinquished with a bite exam and fix, and I even began to regain great range of opening my mouth/jaw over time. Now, present day- the same crown led me to an endodontist that performed a root canal. I tried to tell everyone that crown was bad from the beginning, at least now I know. And, let me add that my husband was told his tooth was fine by Dr Barnes then had emergency root canal 2 weeks following. He won’t go back either to him. Lastly, I just spoke with a friend telling my situation and found out she stopped seeing Barnes for the same reason. So, there is my spill. His office staff is nice, he’s nice too. But, I’m so thankful I’m with an incredible dentist now!!! Dr. Maniscalco! And great endodontist- Nunnelly in Edgewood. I’m thankful Dr Barnes didn’t have time for me when I needed urgent care- blessing in disguise :)"
