"I took my son because of the name, and it had good reviews for one of the pediatricians here, Dr. Linda Gordon. We went in, it was a nice place, the lady at the desk was courteous and helpful, and so was the nurse that took us back to the room. I told the doctor what my son's symptoms were, and she began to check him. He was vomitting, gagging, running a high fever, and very congested. As soon as she noted a red throat, she assumed it was strep. Went ahead, wrote a prescription for it, but then was going to test it. . . took that test, then she finally came back in with the results for strep. negative. hm. BUT, she said she was going to treat him as if it was that anyway... started to walk off .. but then, I ask... what about the flu? why is he throwing up constantly and running a fever? well, she says, okay .. it could be.. fine, i'll test for that. (Fine? No trying to see what else it MIGHT be?) but I stop her again .. and say, I'm just hoping it's not pneumonia, how do you test for that? how do I know it's not that? (just because I'm a mother, and not a doctor, I don't know these things) but she says he doesn't have pneumonia because his lungs sounded clear. But, as for the flu, she would test it.. he came back negative for that... but she treated him for strep anyway. He did get better, but it just annoyed me that she didn't at least outweigh the possibilities ... or ask if I wanted him tested for the others or SOMETHING. seemed like she was just ready to get out of there..."
