"There is no place like Dauphin Island if you are looking for peace and quite to relax from all the hustle and bustle of today. Clean beaches you can sit or lay on and leave it all behind to the sound of the waves coming in. ExpIore to your hearts content, just leave it like you find it. Wouldnt trade it for all the noise and commercialism across the bay."

"WORST beach for kids. The distance between parking and the beach is over 2,000 feet of walking on rough terrain. The water level drops quickly. Rip tide signs were flashing yellow. No lifeguard. BEST beach for reading books because it is not kid friendly. The waves are also louder here than other nearby beaches."

"Dog friendly + good for kids, family. Very clean free beach with free parking, handicapped accessible with boardwalks, however, some paths cut through the dunes which are protected for wildlife. Sand is white, fine, like Florida & Hawaiian beach sand. Not too many shells this side of the beach. No litter no trash. There are nearby hotels, shops. Showers to remove sand near parking lot + multiple public restrooms. BBQ Areas with picnic tables & swings near restrooms & parking lot. The only negative thing I can say about this beach is you can see oil rigs off in the distance in The Gulf. Not crowded like other real touristy beaches."

"Every person we encountered on the beach was so nice. The beach is clean and has restrooms/ changing stalls. It also had an area to rinse off, but the showers weren't working. Dogs are allowed while leashed. The water wasn't very salty and cold and refreshing but a dark, dingy color. NOW the walk, let me tell you about this walk across the Sahara desert you're about to take... make sure you have everything. Some parts are slippery."

"Good beach. Clear water, ton of space to spread out. Boardwalk on one path to a old fishing pier, that is now entirely on land now, and several other sand paths through the dunes. Like everyone says, the walk to the beach is long. Very long. Feels like a forever walk. Sand at the shore is white an powdery. They had a lot of rain recently, so there were several spots holding water away from the shore and they kind of reeked... Also some green sandy spots that were not exactly picturesque. We were there early in the morning for family photos and had the place to ourselves. Crabs galore right in the surf."
