"Me and my husband aren’t from the area and so glad we ended up in this bar! The crowd is great, the atmosphere is great, the drinks are at reasonable prices and taste good, too. We had fun and enjoyed talking to bartender who was very attentive and kind. We loved it!"

"The new Tavern 1831 is completely different from the old bar. I agree that the old bar was very dirty and completely unwelcoming. However, the new place is the opposite. Under new ownership, the whole inside has been stripped out and renovated. It does not even resemble the old place. Very up to date and classed up. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, and the nonsmoking inside is a plus. They have good daily specials as well as BINGO on Wednesday nights. They have live music almost every weekend and the house band is great. I recommend it to anyone looking to have a good time in downtown Tuscaloosa!"
"Totally different experience than years ago. Super clean, smoke free!!!! They have a large selection of beer and alcohol. The bartenders are a pleasure to be around and always friendly. Not your typical bar! The live bands they provide are perfect for the atmosphere of the bar. Best bar in Tuscaloosa!"
