Lake Chemung Park

"Stopped in a few weeks ago to eat our lunch by the lake. I couldn't believe how much liter had been left behind. I'm not just talking a few wrappers. I'm talking cases of empty beer, used fireworks, the large ones that require a tube. Sparklers, glass and plastic bottles, food scraps, paper plates, candy wrappers, cigarette butts....I had a spare trash bag in my car, so I cleaned up, but the fact that I had to is atrocious. Someone needs to be cleaning that park daily. It's a beautiful little pull off and should be treated with respect. This video was the tip of the iceberg and doesn't seem so heinous. It wasn't until I actually started cleaning that I realized how much there actually was. I filled the trash bag and then carried several large items to the dumpster on site."

"We stopped here to eat our picnic lunch and we’re treated to the tranquility of a beautiful view of the lake complete with a family of swans gliding about in the water in front of us. Beautiful!!"

"This place is boring. All you can do here is just sit on benches, walk around, or stare at the lake. It seems uneventful and lackluster. There is no entertainment, no vibrance. Just silence, wildlife, and solitude. They need to put in some kind of speakers maybe club lighting. They need drink service and at minimum food trucks. Nothing fun is happening here. People just sit and read books or walk their dogs. They need to revamp the whole atmosphere if they want to stay relevant in this market."

"Beautiful, serene and clean. It's a nice size lake to enjoy the water or just enjoy the view. I enjoy kayaking in this lake. Certainly a must see and enjoy!"
