"Great place to hike. Moderate level. Park hooks up to the north country trail, hike it 8 miles to Fallsburg park. Trail is a gem."

"It's a beautiful trail. I recommend anyone to come here. The trail goes far out and it would be great for anyone hiking. I took my two cats for a walk here a couple days ago. They seemed to love it. They were very curious about all the little streams of water going about. My favorite part is the small bridge on the right side of the woods. It's nice and quiet."

"The park is located near the trailhead of NCT, for a picturesque hike from Lowell to Fallasburg, with stunning views of the Flat River."

"I was a brand new 11-year-old Lowell Troop #102 Boy Scout in 1951-52 when this wonderful large pine cabin was built by community volunteers, scout leaders, and the boys themselves -- so the troop.would have its own weekly meeting.place. Troop 102, founded about 1942, had been meeting in the gym of the Methodist Church, and at the Lowell City Hall (upstairs). Returning World War Ii veterans provided essential new leadership: Scoutmaster "Gouldie" Rivette (a wartime pilot) was well-loved by all the boys. Other leaders were Jim Drooger, Rev. Phillip Glotfelty, Charles Hill, Lyle Covert, Eddie Laux, Al Dalstra. The cabin interior was mostly a large open room with a concrete floor, and a magnificent stone fireplace at the north end. A small enclosed office area, 2 restrooms, and a service kitchen were at the south end. Two full-size canoes were hung from the ceiling joists, ready for paddling on the nearby Flat River. A riverside hiking trail proceeds northward through the heavily-wooded high east bank of the slow-moving stream -- including a high peak called "Devil's Peak." There used to be a wire cable stretching across the river at the site of an old dam west of the cabin. We scouts sometimes used a rope chair, or hand over hand, to cross the river on that cable. But a few years later a boy (not a scout) fell and drowned there, so the cable was removed. Some nights in the mid-1950s after our Explorer Scout meeting, we would divide up into two crews and race our canoes down the river to Christiansen's Drug Store for ice cream at the soda fountain (losers buy). In the mid-1950s, the Lowell boys were Grand Valley Scout Council canoe racing (relay) champions three straight years. ."

"Found this park while looking for a place to stretch my legs. There was no one in sight being early in the springtime. Honestly, this place had a creepy vibe lol. I felt watched as I walked around though I saw no other people, cars or cameras. Probably not a place I'll go to alone again."
