"Tried to go there for Brunch on Sunday. The hours say on Sunday 7:30-2:30 on their website, and on the door of the lodge. We get there at 10:15 after an hour drive and told brunch does not start until 11am and were sent away. Disappointing. Won't be back."

"Daniella’s Restaurant Joe Wheeler State Park Rogersville, Alabama 3562 Nice addition to the State Park and Resort property and very convenient. Seating area overlooks the lake and the views are very peaceful - sunrises with breakfast & coffee; or sunsets with a cool beverage are breath taking. Restaurant Staff were friendly and very attentive. Because of the time of the season, food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner were either the buffet or limited menu items. Our Server did offer to personalize our orders - so that was an option. Personally, we are not much on buffets and we thought the value and the price of the breakfast buffet was a bit steep for the quality of the food and limited selection. Same with regards to the dinner buffet. The evening salad bar was nice and well stocked with a good variety of items, to include shrimp. The Chicken Wings and French Fries were tasty, as was the Shrimp dinner. Food is not of the best quality in relation to pricing, but understandably with the location inside the Lodge. Having the option for restaurant style food on site at Joe Wheeler State Park and at the Resort is an attraction. Big Plus and consideration when booking a stay - we did take advantage during our stay and when we come back, will definitely have a meal or two at Daniella’s."

"Didn't expect such good food or service. Waitress very friendly and efficient. The sweet potato fries were the best ever. Got a steak and cheese sandwich, was very good. Definitely want to stay at the Lodge, knowing the restaurant is so good."

"I try to eat here often to support local restaurants and our state parks. It could be so much better if they kept longer, more consistent hours. They are only open Thursday-Saturday 11-8 and Sunday 7-3. They also close for an hour from 4-5 to get ready for dinner. On Sundays, and Friday and Saturday nights you can only eat the buffet with no option to order off the menu. I went for lunch at 1130 on a Friday and sat at a table when a server came out and said they were closed with no explanation why. Although 3 tables had people actively eating lunch (they were park employees). This is just another example of the inconsistency. Food- the Reuben and onion rings are recommended. The buffets are hit or miss. Service- very inconsistent ranging from great to really bad. I've been in and out for lunch in 35 minutes and stuck there over an hour with hardly any other customers to cause a delay. This restaurant could be very good with more consistency both in service and hours of operation. In the summer season a state park restaurant should not close before it gets dark outside."
