"This place has always been great, but going last week was a little underwhelming. Initially hit by the smell of sewage when we walked in, we should have left then. But the other Mexican restaurant nearby was closed, and this restaurant has always been a great experience. Not to mention being a Special Needs Mom, there's something also special about the owner that draws us to this place. The food is usually really tasty but during this visit, some of it was under seasoned. The house hot sauces were great. The salsa was good. The street tacos were good. The chicken tacos were what were under seasoned as well as the rice and beans. Staff is always courteous and familiar faces there. Hopefully the next visit they will be back to normal with the odors gone and the cooks back on their game with seasonings."

"Update 10-17-23: We just ate here for breakfast for the first time. We both loved the food. My wife got the Volcano Bowl with "Jennifer's breakfast potatoes" and I got the Alambre Omlette with grits. I also got 1 chorizo breakfast taco to try. I really liked everything. My wife didn't like the heat on the Volcano Bowl, so I finished hers and she finished my omlette. I didn't eat the potatoes, but my wife said they were really good. The grits were a little bland. The breakfast taco was authentic and delicious. Overall, it was a great experience. We'll definitely be returning, for breakfast and dinner, in very short order. The staff here is always very friendly. They interact with our children and they are always very helpful. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Great Christian based family. They play Christian music all the time and we love it. We eat here at least 2-3 times a week."

"Hidden gem in the small town of Northport, AL. Just across the Black Warrior River north of Tuscaloosa. If you are in town and searching for a good breakfast, it’s worth the few extra minutes of drive time. The breakfast menu is extensive, and the food fresh and delicious. The lunch/dinner menu will not disappoint either! Living in Northport, it’s one of our go-to spots."

"Jake was my friendly server. He took my order, brought my food then my check. I saw him once, after the hostess came to my table. The food arrived on hot plates. Garden salad (white meat, unseasonably chicken), rice and beans. I should have stuck with a guacamole salad because that chicken was DRY & BLAND. I left the tip at the counter with the girl who's tag read "on training". I'm not sure if she understood that was why I left the change."

"Don’t let the outside fool you. It was overall a great experience. The server was very personable. The food was tasty and hit the spot. Great prices. I even thought it was cool that they had Christian music playing. I’d only ever heard that at Chick-Fil-A."
