"This place has such kind people. Food was amazing and service was fast and polite. I was an idiot and forgot my debit card at home so I couldn't pay. I had the money but I just needed to get the card since my ADHD was bad today. The gentleman at the counter covered my food for me when he didn't have to. I felt so embarrassed but I'm grateful for such nice and understanding people! You deserve all the 5 star reviews! I'll duct tape my card to me next time!"

"Honestly, given City Cafe’s reputation, I was disappointed. They serve very simple southern dishes. The fresh vegetables were excellent. The chicken and dumplings were excellent. The Cole slaw was excellent. The baked chicken strips were dry and somewhat tasteless. The chicken fried steak appeared to be a frozen patty not made in house. It was also somewhat tasteless and appeared to chicken instead of beef. The deserts were average. Service was excellent. I wish I could give more stars but the food was just too inconsistent."
"One of those early mornings where you can see a packed restaurant, Tuscaloosa County High students' trucks rolling along for homecoming, hard working folk everywhere and history. Great breakfast, people watching, and shaking hands of good friends. I hope you have a great Friday. The three egg western omlette is a real treat. You can take my word for it or better yet, try one yourself."
