"They've had my family's console stereo since 2018. I've paid over $400 and tried repeatedly to either get the repair finished or get it back. Every time I call it's like the first time, they have no idea what I'm talking about, give me an excuse, tell me they'll call me back, but never do. This is beyond my comprehension."

"Called this guy to inquire about TV repair. He was head strong and irritated as I had a few deeper questions from info he was providing so I could make informed decisions. This guy (assume the owner) at Blakies - told me that parts are not available to fix my TV. Impression was he did t know how to fix it or just didn’t want to bother with it. ( I had Called my manufacturer of TV prior - they said these PARTS ARE AVAILABLE and can be shipped out. When I informed Blackies TV of this - he abruptly ended conversation, didn’t say goodbye and hung up. So GR if you want to be lied to and treated rudely….go there. If he’s sick of customers - which is they impression I left with - retire. If you don’t want to fix something - just say you don’t do that kind of repair work….pretty simple. I went elsewhere and they KINDLY fixed it."

"Has had my grandma's turntable for 3 years tells us he's waiting on parts from China she paid him $130 and hasn't called her to tell her it was done she's called a multiple times and they've ignored the phone calls I advise anybody trying to get stuff fixed not to go to this guy cuz he's a rip-off artist he won't even give back the turntable she was trying to get fixed"

"I gave Blackies $475 in September of 2022. Understanding the policy of not being able to reclaim your $75 deposit. With that said I was told that for $400 they could order a part from China. Which I gave with no issue but after several months I called to check the status of my TV and was told " they part has been disconnected and we will refund your money for the part". We'll it's September 2023 and I have been completely been treated like trash. Over the last two calls speaking with the owner Blackie himself. He says I'll talk to my book keeper and then hangs up on me. Like I've offended him of something. I would take my business to a more friendly and honest repair company. Maybe the local News organizations would like to see how this place does business."

My most recent experience was a testament to how America has gone from being a maker of durable, innovative things worthy of repair, to a graveyard of cheap goods, manufactured in China, that are difficult or impossible to get parts for, repaired by a dying breed of technicians, whose business is trapped between the remnants of a once thriving enterprise and the landfill/grave."
