Stella Delap started the business out of her basement in 1989, leaving her professional job to have more flexibility to be there for her two boys. Inspired by her mother's talent for creating stunning gift baskets, Stella found joy in bringing happiness to others through her own creations.

Despite facing a recession, a collapsed roof at her previous location, and a streetscape construction project, Stella's determination and passion for her business have never wavered. She recalls how her garage and house were overflowing with baskets during the busy holiday season, leading her to open her first storefront in Canton Township.

After a snowstorm caused the collapse of the shopping center where her store was located, Stella found a new home for Basket Kreations in Downtown Plymouth. She credits her lasting success to the supportive community, including the Chamber of Commerce, the DDA, and fellow merchants who create a vibrant environment for businesses to thrive.
