"Very old but functional light house. Unfortunately by the time we reach there, it was closed. We couldn’t find the timing info mentioned anywhere (or we might have missed it) but it closes at 5 PM (Update : this info is available on fb page) . Due to its condition, visitors cannot walk up to the top. (Heard it somewhere else) But walk towards it, is enjoyable due to view of the lake and water activities. Update: It seems the information I had earlier about 'not being able to climb or this being non functional, was misleading and one of the volunteers has responded below with correct information. Thank you for corrections."
"The volunteers at this lighthouse are incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the history of the Muskegon Beach are and have tons of amazing photographs to see for you to learn about what used to be in this area. I highly reccomend going on the tour and climbing to the top of the lighthouse during the summer to experience a unique perspective and learn about all the cool places that used to be in the area and the shipwrecks that have happened in the channel!"
"Great walkway out to the lighthouse, fantastic beach! Perfect summer spot. No entry fee for park but parking is paid (payable by cash/card at kiosk) and scare on busy summer days."
