Bunte's Pharmacy

"In brief: Bunte's made several promises to me that they did not keep, and then when I finally was able to pick up the prescription, the pharmacist did not see that I was standing there and openly mocked me and my reliance on the promises they made. To elaborate: My usual pharmacy didn't have my medication, so I called around and after a couple hours on the phone, was happy to discover that Bunte's had what I needed in the quantity I needed. They said they'd fill the rx as soon as it was called in. My doctor's office called it in the next day, Friday. I was going to stop by on my way home from work but they had not filled it as they had promised, hours after it had been called in. They told me they'd have it ready for pickup Saturday morning. I made the trip to Zeeland to pick it up in the early afternoon to give them plenty of time. They still hadn't filled it. They finally started filling it, but an issue came up that would have been completely avoidable if they had filled the rx when they said they were going to fill it - either the day before or that morning. They next promised me they would fill it Monday morning, as they are closed on Sundays, and that I would have to come back then. I finally got a call Monday morning just before noon, letting me know it would be filled soon. However, despite having promised that they could fill the prescription in the quantity it was written for, they then told me that despite having the quantity I needed, they would not fill the whole prescription, but only a part of it. I had little choice at this point because I was out of the medication, so I agreed. As I was picking up and paying for the portion of the prescription that they did choose to fill, the pharmacist apparently did not see me; she was talking and laughing loudly with the other workers, openly mocking me and my situation. She made it clear that she thought it was ridiculous for me to expect that my prescription would be filled when they promised it would be filled, and in the quantity that they promised. I grew up nearby and went to school in Zeeland. I always assumed that the strength of a small-town pharmacy like this would be customer service. I was very disappointed that this was not the case, and I will not be back."

"Called because there is a shortage in my son's medication. Was told the only way they would give it to me since we already didn't have prescriptions there was if I changed all my prescriptions over to them. Other wise they only give it to people with current prescriptions. I'm sorry... I thought you were a pharmacy? I called D&W asked them the same question and they said they not only had some they would be happy to fill it. My doctor called them, 30 min later it was filled. That Buntees is how you do customer service."

"Very disappointed! Signed up to get a second Covid shot. One of the questions asked which vaccine I had, it continued to let me sign up. I thought I would call the pharmacy to confirm and they said, we only have the Moderna. I had already canceled my second shot at DeVoss. I am now scheduled further out because I had to sign up again! Maybe someone should set up the website stating that they don’t have the Pfizer!"

"Made the move from that BIG pharmacy down the road about two years ago. I traded rude, impersonal, hurry up attitudes (oh, and pop, pizza, pistachios, pictures and so on) for “home-town”, friendly pharmacists who actually come forward from behind their counter to answer questions, help you find something, offer advice, remind you to get a flu shot or simply to say hello and see how you’re doing. Amazing service. Helpful, caring people. I’m NOT going back... even for the sale stuff. I like people who care!"

"I’ve been using Bunte’s Pharmacy for almost a year now, I have loved it! The people are genuinely nice and caring, they don’t make you feel embarrassed or like less of a person because you don’t have insurance. I experienced that at the family fare pharmacy and will never go back there again. My love for Buntes went up even more today when I realize you can get your prescriptions dropped off to you. I wasn’t sure if this was just for certain customers or not but they said anybody can have a prescription dropped off. That helps out so much when I have two crabby babies and don’t want to get out in the rain. On top of all of that the delivery driver was so respectful, she saw I had a sign on my door that said “do not knock” (due to sleeping babies and barking dogs) she called me to let me know she was there to drop off my prescription. Excellent service, job well done on all aspects. I will be a customer for life!"
