"Another relaxing stay at Up with the Sun! We stayed at the cottage last summer and had to come back this year. The cottage itself is perfect. The atmosphere is calm, clean, and relaxing. Everything from the interior design to the smell (essential oil diffuser) has been well-thought-out. There's no wifi and little cell service so we set our phones down and forget about them for our stay. Our favorite thing to do at the cottage is sauna-swim – we sit in the steamy sauna and run down into the lake to cool off. There's no other feeling like it! We also spent a lot of time at the white sand beach. The charcoal grill is also a nice addition. We used it several nights to grill burgers, smoke chicken, etc. Morgan and Danielle are great hosts and amazing people. We highly recommend staying at their cottage for a long weekend or entire week. Make sure you include a few add ons – the kombucha is incredible!"
"I've stayed at many cottages on Lake Superior and this one is my favorite. It's not like the other cabins on Lake Superior—it is beautifully designed and updated. It has everything you need, a hot wood-burning sauna, kayaks, a huge paddle board, fire pit on the beach and of course the most important thing, Lake Superior. The owners are wonderful to work with and really care to provide the best stay. This cottage will give you and your family memories of a lifetime. You won't be able to get it out of your mind. Absolute paradise."
"Staying at Up with the Sun will fulfill all of your Lake Superior dreams!! A beautifully updated cottage owned and run by the sweetest local family. The lake, the beach, the sauna, and the remote setting make this stay a wonderful choice. Close enough to town if you need to grab something, but far enough away that you can rest and relax “away from it all!” We were able to explore a majority of the Keweenaw during our short stay. This rental is a win-win!"
"We hosted our annual photography workshop at this lovely cabin and it was better than we could have imagined. The space is so cozy and designed very well. The best parts were being right next to Lake Superior and cozying up next to the fireplace."
