About the Business
The Agnes S. Andreae Nature Preserve, located along the lower Pigeon River in Afton, Michigan, is a serene park and tourist attraction offering pine forests, steep bluffs, and over five miles of trails to explore. Donated by Agnes S. Andreae in 1983, the preserve has since expanded to 181 acres with a cabin, footbridge, and hiking trail. The adjacent Boyd B. Banwell Preserve offers additional hunting opportunities. The Nature Megaphone on the Banwell Preserve allows visitors to enhance their sensory experience in nature. The Andreae Cabin is available for use by non-profit or community groups with reservations. Visit this beautiful preserve to enjoy the peaceful wilderness and discover the diverse plants and animals it houses.

"We walked to the megaphone & back, which is about an hr round trip from the cabin. Only restroom is the outhouse just before the cabin, which is about a 10 min walk from the pkg lot. Trail is not for the mobility challenged. Also we walked it in Oct, so no bugs & trail was mostly dry. Nice nature hike!"
"Be sure to check out the nature megaphone! It was a windy day and a dog was barking constantly, but it was still a neat experience. The hike was about 2 miles round trip. The only downside was the people visiting with their dog running off leash (which is against the posted rules)."
"Beautiful trail!! AllTrails says it’s 1.9miles and 183 elevation. There are some ups and downs but pretty easy. Love the river views and the megaphone made by Petoskey HS! All dirt roads to get to the parking lot and only parking for about six cars. Seemed a little awkward to have to walk around the back of a house to get to the bridge but it’s what u have to do :). Looks it connects to another preserve if you want more mileage."
"After being away for years, it was nice to be able to come back to a nature preserve so close to home. The trails are very well marked, and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous."
