Fuller General Dentistry

"Prior to my most recent visits, I had good experiences with the front office staff, dental hygienist and the other doctor on site (who has since left). I felt they were communicative and skilled. This is not the experience I had with Dr. Fuller’s medical staff. I went into the office about a week ago to get my broken wisdom tooth extracted. Afterwards, I was told to take ibuprofen and clean my mouth with hydrogen peroxide by one of the dental assistants. Two days later I developed dry socket. I went back and Dr. Fuller cleaned the area, stitched me up, and prescribed me stronger pain killers. Her assistant then told me that I can start to use less hydrogen peroxide. I limited my usage to about once a day. I continued to feel excruciating pain and could barely get any sleep. I had to call back several times to get more medication, often several times in a row due to the phone not being answered. I called back on a weekend due to the pain, with the intention of getting the emergency number usually available in the recorded message for most dental offices. There was no number. Eventually after several more days with continuous pain, they reached out to me and referred me to an oral surgeon. I visited the oral surgeon, who informed me that I should NOT use hydrogen peroxide, advising it kills both the bad and good bacteria and makes healing a lot harder. He directed me to use salt water and syringe to clean it out. This was brand new information to me. Through my own research, I also found out online that birth control can often cause dry socket- I was not informed days in advance to stop taking it and the assistants who confirmed my medications still did not provide me with proper information for preventing dry socket. While it was the dental assistants providing incorrect information which lead to my complications, I still expected Dr. Fuller to check and assist with helping me heal efficiently. I feel like I was failed as a patient throughout this whole process of care. I will not be coming back in the future."
