"If you read nothing else just read this first bit. Hillstream Dental gives you a $5 gift card to give them a 5 star review. I regret not listening to my gut when I initially saw this practice. What does it tell you about a place that they have to bribe for 5 star reviews? The high rating is at least partially bought not earned. Hillstream Dental was my dentist until recently. They referred me out to get a root canal, that went well, and then I couldn’t get in to get the permanent filling and crown. I tried to call twice to schedule an appointment and was told they would call me back (it has been nearly 4 weeks, no call) The receptionist I spoke to on my second call was so condescending and rude about scheduling an appointment. I was trying to explain and ask questions and she said the specialist needed to send the paperwork, I had already spoken to the specialist and found out they sent the paperwork immediately after finishing my appointment. I tried to explain this, but the receptionist said we still need the dentist to “approve it” before we can schedule an appointment. I can understand there is a process in place, I need a crown and permanent filling no matter what so I didn’t understand why it needs to be “approved.” What happens if it doesn’t get approved? I go with a temporary filling over a weak tooth the rest of my life? The receptionist made me feel so stupid and uncomfortable about this whole thing I was shocked by her treatment of a patient. I gave it 3 more days and still did not receive any sort of appointment call. At this point I look at other reviews and see many other people have had issues here, including very rude treatment and dental issues. I called a new dentist and they got me in the next day for a crown and I shared my experience with them. They found the whole thing highly unusual and told me they recommend only going with a temporary filling for two weeks max after a root canal as the risk of cracking the tooth is so high with a temporary filling (at this point it had been a week with a temp filling) To date it has been over 4 weeks since my root canal and still no one from Hillstream Dental has called me about my crown. I did try to schedule it, but they told me to wait and someone would call so I thought I should give them a chance to follow through, but unfortunately they have not. Very careless patient care and very rude reception. Getting anything done to your teeth is honestly kind of scary. I did enjoy the dentist I saw there, they made me feel comfortable, but the office seems rude, unorganized, and careless which is a hard pass in my book. Patient care starts the moment you pick up the phone."
